Micro-Solv L (AFCO 4417) is a water-soluble, membrane safe solvent-based cleaner designed to be used in UF and RO membrane systems to aid in the removal of fatty soil fouling materials. The solvent in this product will emulsify the residue fats and oils adhering to the stainless steel and membrane elements. By using Micro-Solv L (AFCO 4417) in combination with Micro-Wet N (AFCO 1076) (UF membranes) or Micro-Wet A (AFCO 4435) (RO membranes) the oil removal chemistry will significantly improve. AFCO 4417 is extremely effective in the removal of milk fats from improperly separated cheese whey (containing high fat content) that can foul UF and RO membranes systems. The use of AFCO 4417 when used in an alkaline wash cycle will quickly restore feed flow, membrane flux, and permeation. High pressures that occur across fouled membranes should be restored to baseline after treatment with AFCO 4417.
