Feedtreat Dechar (AFCO 9127) is a sodium sulfite formula used for the removal of oxygen from feed water and boiler water. This oxygen scavenger removes oxygen before it can create oxygen pitting type corrosion in the feedwater/boiler system. It may also be used as a source of sulfite for wet boiler lay-up. AFCO 9127 may also be used as a source of sulfite for wet boiler lay-up. The formula is decharacterized with lignin to permit use in USDA inspected food plants where steam contacts food.
