Enhancer #1 (AFCO 8200) is a proprietary blend of chelating agents and surfactants which, when added to freshly prepared or reclaimed caustic solutions, will enhance or restore the cleaning performance of the caustic solution. The chelating agents in Enhancer 1 tie up water hardness ions and prevent the formation of film and scale on equipment. The surfactants in AFCO 8200 emulsify oils and greases and improve wetting and rinsing of the equipment surface. AFCO 8200 may also be used as an additive in the detergent cycle of industrial laundry operations to minimize the effect of hard water and increase the performance of laundry detergents like Liquid Twirl (AFCO 5355).
