I am writing to certify that BWT-500B (AFCO 8502), manufactured by AFCO, 550 Development Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201, complies with the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act and any other applicable regulations.

AFCO 8502 meets the requirements for 21 CFR 173.310.

AFCO 8502 is acceptable for treating boilers or steam lines where the steam produced may contact edible product in official establishments operating under the Federal meat, poultry, shell egg grading and egg products inspection programs as well as in milk and milk products according to 21 CFR 173.310.

AFCO 8502 is formulated with only non-volatile compounds that will not carry over into steam under normal operating conditions and ingredients listed in 7 CFR 205.605 of the National Organic Program. As such, AFCO 8502 is acceptable as a boiler water treatment additive for use in organic food production facilities where the steam produced may contact organic food or food contact surfaces.

AFCO 8502 is free from undesirable microorganisms and is safe under the conditions of use.
